UWHC Blood Bank
The Transfusion Service encompasses:
  • Blood Bank
  • Apheresis Center
  • Infusion Center

The former supplies approximately 55,000 blood products to in and outpatients at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, clinics and related outpatient care facilities.

The apheresis center provides in excess of 1100 procedures per year to a large variety of patients including those on transplant, neuroscience, oncology, hematology and critical care services.

We are staffed by 5 RNs. We are AABB, JCAHO and where applicable, FDA accredited.

Finally, the Blood Bank offers a 1-2 year, GME approved fellowship training program.
