Clinical Informatics Pathologist

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting an academic clinical informatics pathologist. An MD, DO or MD/PhD and board certification in AP, CP, or AP/CP are required. Candidates must also be board eligible or certified in Clinical Informatics (ABP) and be qualified for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Wisconsin. Expertise in clinical informatics at an academic medical center is essential.

The clinical laboratory informatics faculty will develop and optimize processes and workflows at UW Health that interface between laboratory instrumentation and lab information systems (LIS) and between LIS and EHR. The clinical informatics faculty will listen to and inform (negotiate with) clinician clients and pathologists to develop decision support tools to further improve standard of care, optimize utilization and improve billing efficiency. The clinical laboratory informatics faculty will routinely serve on UW Health-wide working groups and committees. The informatics role will occupy approximately 50% of this faculty's time, and the remaining time will be spent in research, teaching, and clinically in another area of pathology dependent on the interests/expertise of the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be appointed in the department at the level of Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor on the Clinical Health Science track and must have experience and academic accomplishments commensurate with the level of appointment.
