Work of Thomas Raife and colleagues featured in ASBMB Newsletter
Recent work by Tom Raife and colleagues was featured in the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology March Newsletter. This work, published in the journal Molecular & Cellular Proteomics, is based on a metabolomics and proteomics study involving 18 pairs of twins. Raife and colleagues examined the heritability of factors affecting red blood cell storage. Using the data, they developed a model for predicting how long blood can be stored, which will also potentially lead to identifying factors to make all blood store longer.
