Igor Slukvin’s Research Featured in Cell Reports

Professor Igor Slukvin and colleagues have elucidated the early developmental pathways that give rise to human vascularization. Starting with stem cells, the researchers developed conditions to create the different cell types that make up the body’s vasculature. This research is an important first step in creating a model system for studying vascular diseases and developing therapies to treat them. The results were recently published in Cell Reports (May 30, 2017).
