Research Interests

• Antigen presenting properties of microvessel smooth muscle and endothelium, including the MHC • Co-stimulatory molecules of cytokines involved in antigen presentation • Cellular

Detail:

Studies in my laboratory have pursued the antigen presenting properties of microvessel smooth muscle and endothelium, including the MHC, co-stimulatory molecules of cytokines involved in antigen presentation and cellular migration across the blood brain barrier. The studies are designed to help us better understand the regulation of inflammatory cell infiltrates into the CNS as well as some of the mechanisms operative in autoimmune disease in the CNS. Laboratory studies also address endothelia-smooth muscle/pericyte interactions.
